IT'S FOR SALE! Call LAWMAN MIKE (312) 848-1864 Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting.. A beautiful, excellent shape, Pro Musician owned, 2001 Japan, Epiphone 1965 Casino/VS Elitist Guitar with the original Epi Deluxe Hard Shell case and case candy. Hard to believe this guitar is already 23 years old. It look almost New Old Stock! We got this guitar from a Pro Musician who has a Beatles Tribute band. He used this guitar twice on stage and it hardly has a ding on it. Not having another gig for awhile, he offered to us and we happily accepted. It's a beauty and plays and sounds awesome with the Epi P90 Pickups! Here's some info we found on the internet regarding these cool guitars... In addition to sounding great, these are one of the lightest available electric guitars at under 7 pounds. This example is all original except for the truss rod cover; a standard "E" logo cover has replaced the original with 'Elitist' engraving. The Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino recalls one of the most famous guitars – the one played by John Lennon on many recordings. In fact, Lennon, McCartney and Harrison all had Casinos and McCartney still uses his. There were of course many other Casino players, including members of the Rolling Stones and Beach Boys. Originally built as a Sunburst model, by 1968 (during the White Album sessions) Lennon had the finish stripped off, with two coats of thin clear lacquer re-applied. It was felt that this improved the tone and resonance of the guitar, and this look has become a de facto standard, especially without the pickguard. The Casino’s official designation is the ES-230D, and is virtually identical to the Gibson ES-330. It is a fully hollow thinline guitar, using a Maple Laminate body and Mahogany neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The earliest versions used a Spruce top. A pair of P-90 pickups through standard individual volume and tone controls and a pickup selector are used for electronics. There are two major variants of the Casino, with the difference being where the neck joins the body. At its introduction in 1961 and until around 1967, the neck joined the body at the 16th fret. For 1968, the neck was shifted to join at the 19th fret, providing more access to the upper frets. The Epiphone Elitist line was the upper range of Epiphone guitars. Built in Japan using American (Gibson) components, these are simply excellent instruments. This Epiphone Elite 1965 Casino dates to 2003 and was built at the Terada plant in Nagoya. Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino hollow body electric guitar review The Elitist Casino is a rare guitar. But even as a rare specimen in the music industry, the ’65 Elitist Casino tops many charts of best expensive guitars. It’s a high-end alternative. To be honest, it’s not even high-end, is “higher-end.” Something you would buy when money is not a problem. Something you would crave for its boutique aesthetics and sounds. The 1965 Casino shows what an Epiphone premium guitar can look like. That is with the timeless style of the original 1965 Casino hollow body guitar, just like The Beatles’ McCartney and Lennon used to play. That said, the Elitist Casino is a reissue of the original Epiphone Casino guitars of the decade. Other prominent players of Casino guitars include Noel Galagher (Oasis, solo artist), Joe Pass, Gary Clarck Jr, Nick Valensi (The Strokes), and Tom Delonge (Blink 182, Angels & Airwaves). All we had to do to this guitar when it arrived was changed the strings and give the setup a little tweak. Cleaned and refreshed the fretboard and played it for about an hour, enjoying it a lot! The guitar is all original. It has the Casino 24 1/2 inch scale neck, nut measures 1 11/16 inches and it weighs almost nothing at 6 lbs 7 ozs. Nice Round C profile that feels awesome in the hand! Check out the beautiful Epiphone Deluxe Hard Shell case. Had a couple dings on the Tolex from the Band Van but it's still in awesome shape, expecially the beautiful Purple Plush Interior. All latches, hinges, handle and accessory box are still with it and operating properly. We even got the original case candy included. Key, truss rod tool, warranty info and Epi booklet. Nice to have with this awesome guitar. See pic 13 Sold with a 7 day return if not happy with it. In the unlikely event, just pay shipping and the guitar total will be refunded.
