I wanted to create a guitar lesson for this one, but I figured it would be cool to invite some friends and record a full cover as well! Download the transcription on PDF: Download a backing track: For the instruction-video with a full breakdown of the guitar solo, it's right here: On That Morning is a beautiful laidback roots-sounding track, based on a preaching melody. The sound and feel and the playing style Robben Ford uses in the song is inspiring to me and bridges Jazz and Blues very nicely. He plays mostly blues ideas, complimented with a couple of clever lines. For recording the guitar I’ve used a 1966 Epiphone Casino to replicate his Riviera tone, and a Deluxe Reverb DSP amp from my Antelope Audio’s Interface. So yeah, no amps were harmed during this video, but I promise you, they will be in another one. The bass is recorded with a M/S setup. So this is about 125,- total of mics, but I laugh my ass off with these mics every time. Centermic is a Behringer B2 set to cardiod pattern. The Sides-Mic is a RM700 ribbon mic by Thomann. Both mics sound 'pretty reasonably priced' on their own but with dedicated roles they work well!
