The Golden Nugget casinos owner purchased land across from the Aria several months ago, and now we’re starting to get details. Mr. Fertitta will put a 43 story hotel on the 6 acre parcel. The resort will also have restaurants, bars, and a convention space, as one might expect. But there will also be a wedding chapel, car dealership, and theater which can handle 2,500 attendees. Las Vegas Baseball Team Looks Likely: --------------------------------------------------------------- A professional Las Vegas baseball team is looking more likely now that the city of Oakland has missed a deadline to come to an agreement with their MLB franchise. The Athletics want a new stadium, and the inability to get a deal wrapped up could mean that any hope of keeping the team in Oakland has now passed. A city official had recently stated that an agreement on a $1 billion ballpark needed to be in place by September 30th, but obviously that date has already passed. And now, he fears that it’s too late to keep the team in town. Bally's Las Vegas Begins Transitions to Horseshoe: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't look now, but things are starting to change on the Las Vegas Strip. Construction work is going on all around Bally's Casino, with the most obvious change being the removal of the Bally's name from the sides of the building. Some changes are more subtle, like the addition of the Horseshoe Logo to the tables in the poker room.
