And I've driven past this slot canyon several times. But I just never went. I'm not sure why. Zebra Slot Canyon is one of the more beautiful and photogenic slot canyons around. And permits aren't required. And the hike is short. And there is a TON of other cool stuff in the area. So why haven't I gone here before? I'm not sure. But Zebra Slot Canyon did not disappoint. First, let's talk about the hike. The parking lot isn't even labelled. At least not that I saw. There's a lot and a trail across the road from the parking. That's it. The scenery from here is pretty standard Hole in the Rock Road scenery. It's pretty, but it doesn't really look like there's much out there. But that changes quickly. After maybe a half mile (perhaps a mile) into the relatively flat hike to Zebra Slot Canyon, the scenery changes. It quickly becomes a mix of rock formations that remind me of the Wave mixed with White Pocket. And that's a pretty nice mix. You quickly forget the hike because you're wowed by the scenery and the next thing you know, you're at Zebra Slot Canyon. At first it's a fairly typical looking slot, but quickly you come to the section you've seen in the pictures. It's unbelievable. The horizontal stripes and the patterns in the rock. It almost looks like....I can't even describe it because I haven't ever seen anything like it before. If you're not as tired and overheated as I was, you can climb up further than I did in this video. But I heard it's not long after I stopped that you come to a tall dry fall you can't ascend. So regardless of your technical ability, you will definitely get to see the best part of the slot canyon. Take your pictures, be amazed, and return the way you came. Zebra Slot Canyon is about 4 miles total, out and back, with very little elevation change. But it's an absolutely amazing place. Especially if you make it a longer trip and combine it with some of the other sights in Grand Staircase Escalante like Spooky Gulch, Peek-a-Boo Canyon, Coyote Gulch, Devil's Garden or some of the many, many other great hikes in the area. #betway casino #royal panda
