Today we’re going to take a look at the standard panel hinge. As the name implies, this hinge is great for mounting panels to profiles. They are easy to install and available in both fractional and metric. Now one thing you’ll want to keep in mind with this hinge, is that no machining is required to your profile, your panel is going to need a drill through service. You’re also going to need bolt assemblies for this hinge. More information on 80/20’s machining services and recommended bolt assemblies, can be found in the 80/20 product catalog. Now for this install, we’ve already got one hinge installed into the panel. We’re going to go ahead and do another one. We’re going to finish it of with a bolt and a T-nut. Get that preloaded on there. From there, we’re going to take our other bolt for the panel side, and line up our hinge and feed it through. Grab our washer, our hex nut, and we’ll tighten all that down. Now once we have all that tightened down, we’re ready to install it on our frame. We’ll get our frame over here and lay it down. We’ll grab our panel, and we’ll start sliding in the hinges into the open T-slot. Get this lined up to where we want it. Get this all situated, then we’ll tighten down the bolts, with our wrench.
