It is 45 miles of dirt road to Hans Flat Ranger Station and then another 12 miles of easy 4X4 roads to the Trail Head. Although I Descended and then Reascended this canyon in a non-technical fashion, there were a few spots where climbing back out was difficult as a solo hiker. Team Assists would have made climbing out much easier. Round trip was distance was about 8 miles much of it sand or rock scrambling. It was worth every step!
